This makes it easy for the user to punch holes into the sanding paper for dust extraction. The advantages of these is it makes working with cost-effective rolls of sanding paper just as convenient as it is with coated abrasives with a velcro-type fastening system.
The new orbital sander has a 113 x 105 millimetre large sanding plate and weighs just 1.4 kilograms. The low weight and the compact design make sanding easier, especially when working overhead. The Bosch GSS 140 A has a particularly ergonomic construction, There is a large Soft-grip surface on the motor housing and additional Soft-grip underneath the on/off switch allows for convenient working, even in alternative grip positions.
The key feature of the "Easy-Fit" system is a long pressure strip that not only holds the sanding paper, it also automatically tensions it. This prevents the sanding paper from fluttering or tearing, as is the case with many other sanders. The white sanding plate is also new. Its material has exceptional tensile strength, providing it with a service life approximately two to three times longer than conventional black cellular rubber.
The Bosch GSS 140 A Palm Finishing Sander has a 180-watt motor. It delivers a no-load speed of 12,000 strokes per minute and the oscillating circuit diameter is 1.6 millimetres. In addition to this, Bosch has optimized the ball bearings of the GSS 140 A, which prevents premature wear caused by aggressive sanding dust. Bosch has also equipped it with a micro-filter system for clean working. This system filters even microscopic particles that are a hundred times smaller than the diameter of a human hair from the air.
